28 January 2021: Distance Learning in the summer semester until Easter, from 01 March to 05 April 2021

The teaching at the University College of Teacher Education Styria until the end of the winter semester 2020/21 (28 February 2021) is in implementation. Teachers and students work under the RED traffic light in distance learning and, according to the approval, non-substitutable courses and examinations take place on-site.

It is determined that with the beginning of the summer semester until Easter, the teaching at the University College of Teacher Education Styria will take place in distance learning from Monday, 1 March to Monday, 5 April 2021. Non-substitutable courses and exams will be postponed.

08 April 2020: Extension of COVID measures until the end of the semester

08 April 2020: Extension of COVID measures until the end of the semester

In another personal letter by e-mail, Federal Minister Univ.-Prof. Dr. Heinz Faßmann announced that the protective measures for COVID control for university colleges and universities would be extended until the end of June 2020, but spoke of a slow recovery of the university colleges of teacher education from the beginning of May.

  • Until the end of June, the general teaching of initial teacher education and continuous professional development is to continue to be carried out digitally or by means of distance learning.
  • Wherever possible, examinations should continue to be held using technology-supported methods or be established accordingly. For examination formats that cannot be designed digitally or "in distance", examinations can be held if the corresponding requirements are met (this applies above all to hygiene, distance, limitation of the number of people, mouth and nose protection).
  • For the university and university college libraries, the modified operation should be promptly returned to "normal" lending operations - while observing all safety and conduct rules - but still excluding the opening of a reading room.
  • Research will be continued - as far as this is reasonable due to the local situation. Where research operations have been largely discontinued, they will be gradually restarted, depending on local conditions and possibilities, and in compliance with all rules of safety and conduct.
  • As far as general, technical and administrative tasks are concerned, secretarial and support areas can also be reactivated and gradually retrieved from the home office in preparation for the resumption of operations, service work, system checks, etc.
  • There are still no events or conferences taking place.
  • In any case, the necessary rules of conduct continue to apply in the university and university college sector (keeping distance, limiting the number of people, mouth and nose protection, etc.).
  • By the end of April a decision will be made as to what will be possible over the summer.
