December 14th - 18th, 2018 – On December 14th, 2018 the conference “Teaching Management for Students with Different Learning Capacities in Inclusive Classrooms” at long term partner Suan Dusit University in Bangkok, Thailand took place. ILin Mag.a Susanne Linhofer, Heiko Vogl MA BEd. and Marlene Grabner MSc. BEd. from the Institute of Diversity Management and International Relations were invited to hold keynote speeches on the topic of inclusion:
  • “Cultural Diversity in Inclusive Classrooms: How to Manage Students with Mixed Abilities”
  • “Inclusive Classrooms: The Preparation for “Learning to be” in the 21st Century”
  • “Active Learning in Inclusive Classrooms”

These three keynotes led to interesting discussions with participating students and local school teachers who attended the conference. Furthermore, reflexive talks to students who are currently studying in Thailand within the programme of Erasmus+ and future incoming students from Bangkok took place.

A big success of the visit in Thailand was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chiang Rai Rajabhat University on December 18th, 2018. The Chiang Rai Rajabhat University and the University College of Teacher Education Styria reached an agreement of cooperation to establish programmes of exchange and collaboration.

We are very much looking forward to students’, teachers’, staff exchanges as well as knowledge amongst the three universities in future.
