The University College of Teacher Education Styria is a nationally and internationally recognised tertiary educational and research institution for initial teacher education and continuing professional development of educators, as well as for advising schools on quality development. Initial Teacher education programmes with bachelor's and master's degrees are offered for primary teacher education, for secondary teacher education in 28 subjects and for secondary vocational teacher education in four subject areas, as well as the bachelor's programme in early childhood education. The continuing professional development aims at all teachers and kindergarten educators in Styria. The University College of Teacher Education Styria stands for professionalism in teaching, excellence in research and acceptance of the diversity of all people. Its internationality is based on its self-conception as a university college of diversity for educators and on its focus on education for openness to the world. This internationality manifests itself in the promotion of mobility for students and staff, in numerous cooperation activities in teaching and research, in special joint study programmes and in its distinction as a UNESCO University College.
